Reinvent Mobile Online Community Aims to Impact Laptop PC Design
ComputerShopper | December 10, 2008
Do you have some thoughts about features and design points for the next generation of mobile PCs, or do you simply want to be in the loop about current trends and thinking? Then Reinvent Mobile wants you. This online community is hoping to serve as a channel for customer engagement between consumers and laptop makers.

The site is sponsored by BIOS (and more) maker Phoenix Technologies, the Chief Marketing Officer Council (a 3,500-member organization for marketing pros), and the Forum to Advance the Mobile Experience (an off-shoot of the CMO Council that aims to promote the adoption of wireless applications in the best interests of industry players). The site features news, surveys, literature, articles, blogs, and editorial feedback from users. The idea is to serve as a platform for mobile PC users to communicate amongst each other and share feedback with tech developers within the industry.

Reinvent Mobile promises that prominent industry notables and analysts are on-board to provide opinions and insight. And yes, while the ultimate goal is to increase revenue for the industry (hey, this is marketing after all), it might prove a good arena for the open flow of ideas—and with any luck the good ones will get productized.
